1: Training Teachers in IT

My stint in ETD (Educational Technology Div/MOE) was from 1997 to 1999.

In 1997, the MOE introduced the IT MasterPlan in Education. This called for teachers to be trained to infuse IT in their teaching methodology.

I was one of those IT trainers called Senior IT Instructors attached to MOE's Educational Technology Division (ETD). We trained teachers to use educational software and CD-ROMs to enable them to use the new technology effectively as a teaching aid.

The picture above was a "doctored" picture created at a training session to illustrate how images can be altered. The guy with a full head of hair was me (but I didn't have such luxuriant hair. Look carefully and you'll see it is identical to that of my colleague's hair, having been cut-n-pasted from her head.) The trainees at Bedok West did not miss the teaching point as they could see the difference between me standing in front of them and the picture on the screen! (The image editng software used was Ulead's ImagePal.)
